Mustache School Project

Kayla made this super cute "Mustache Store" for a school project.  She made mustache on a stick (photo props) and bottle cap earrings.  We used an svg we found for free and then bought the bottle cap images on etsy.  She got an A+!

Journals made from thin mint boxes.

At our last sleep over, our Girl Scout troop made these super cute journals from thin mint boxes and my cinch!  The girls had a blast.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Page

Here is another page I made for Charlotte's first birthday.  I turned a coloring page of the "things" into an svg.  I used canvas corp. papers.  I made two-half rosettes for the center of the pages.  I used my irock on the circle by the characters and sewed on the strips by the pictures.

Canvas Fun

This was my first attempt at making one of those canvas prints with mod podging the printed tissue paper onto the canvas.  I used a sepia tone and it kinda turned green.  I recommend just doing black and white prints.  I've been told you have to wait awhile for the color ones to dry.  I gues I didn't wait long enough.  I did not enjoy this project, mainly because I despise mod podge!  This person has the directions on her site.  http://www.littlebitfunky.com/2011/10/20-minute-crafter-diy-photo-canvas.html

Happy Birthday Phoebe!

We don't usually go all out on the dogs birthdays.  They usually get some special treats or a toy and lots of smooches.  Phoebe's birthday came just a few days after Maggie's passing, so to cheer us up I took her to Petsmart and we shopped.  I then had my husband take some pictures of her with her goods with our professional photography set up he just bought.  He's getting pretty good if I do say so myself.  The hat was a free svg file (I just googled) and the cake is from www.myscrapchick.com.  The little puppy on the page was my first attempt at the tear bear method.  I flocked the paw print.  The font, which is my new favorite (you'll notice half the crap I've made recently has this font) is called dear Santa and I got it on a free font site.  I also did a bit of sewing on the page.

Goodbye bestfriend

I've been crafting but have been dreading posting anything on the blog because I didn't want to make this post.  We lost our sweet girl Maggie on April 4th.  She was 15.  It's absolutely heartbreaking to change my profile and remove her name and change our family picture.  (and yes, I've lost 115 lbs since the last profile picture, that is me in the middle).  Phoebe stayed with her sick friend the entire time.  We will miss our Maggie dearly.

I then in made the irrational decision to get another dog right away.  I knew it wouldn't take away the pain of losing Maggie but it helps keep me busy enough I couldn't sit and cry all day.  And Phoebe was spending a lot of time under the kitchen table the first few days she was alone.  So I purchased a cockapoo from www.kingdomdogs.com .  We named her Piper.  Charlotte called her puppy the first day so we thought Piper would maybe be easier for her to say.  She's a cutie but a handful.
